ILIX Subland Drills 6281 is made to conform with DIN 8374. Made from the finest mix of HSS and 5% of Cobalt, ILIX Drills 6281 series are intended to produce higher toughness, hardness and strength in minimizing chatters. ILIX Subland drills, like step drills, have two diameters; the 120° angle on its cutting tip and 90° for its bigger diameter flute to provides higher tool stability (even in unstable working conditions) and a higher surface quality of the material to be machined. ILIX also offer Sublands drill with both straight shank and morse taper. Depends on your machining set up, the nature of their two drills construction of different diameters, retains the individual characteristics and proper geometry for each diameter, especially on working with high volume machining. The 3-4 would be a simple step drill where it's all ground from a standard. Furthermore, ILIX's Sublands are easier to re-sharpen while retaining original minor D lands. There are 4 different models to choose from, the ILIX 6281 (DIN 8374), ILIX 6282 (DIN 8378), ILIX 6283 with 180° cutting tip (DIN 8376) and for bigger diameter of upto M20 with 90° cutting tip, the ILIX 6283 (DIN 8375). Each subland drill were standardized for both high stability and universal usability, it also offers optimum chip breakage, high centering accuracy and less cutting forces. This classic series from ILIX sturdy drill is suitable on toolmaking, jigs, precision hinges, general engineering and many more.  ILIX Subland Drill 120° Tip 6281 DIN 8374 Features: Recommended for multi staging holemaking and for tapping and fastener. Easy to be positioned as the surface diameter of HSS-Co offer a frim grip Tool diameter range: 3mm - 16mm Suitable for material with tensile strength up to 1300 N/mm2. Versatile and highly recommended for both manual and automatic machining PDF catalog on page 260 can be downloaded here (50 MB)
