Flexible and Accurate Salt Testing – Choose the Right Patch for Your Application
DeFelsko Bresle Method Patches are designed for use with the PosiTector SST to measure soluble salt contamination on metal surfaces, fully compliant with ISO 8502-6 and ISO 8502-9. With three distinct options available, users can select the most suitable patch for their testing environment, whether it be flat, curved, vertical, rough, or sensitive surfaces.
1. DeFelsko PosiPatch
Reusable Bresle patch with Standard or Flexible magnetic ring — lowest per test cost
For measuring salt contamination in accordance with ISO 8502-6,9 — the Bresle Method
Magnetic ring attaches to steel with no residue to clean- Standard magnetic ring for flat surfaces and diameters > 1 m (40 in.)- Flexible magnetic ring for ID/OD diameters > 10 cm (4 in.)†
Automatic air removal through a watertight, air permeable membrane
No sharps, no needles! Safe, flexible dispensing tip mates with PosiPatch
Comparable price to latex patches
Reusable patent-pending PosiPatch saves time and money
Easy-to-use in any orientation
† Flexible magnetic ring minimum ID is 12 cm (4.5 in.)
*Certificate included
2. DeFelsko Adhesive Patch
Self-adhesive polyurethane Bresle test patch
For measuring salt contamination in accordance with ISO 8502-6,9
Low-tack adhesive for easy patch removal with no residue to clean
Works on nearly any material or surface geometry
Latex-free
Lower cost than latex patch
Easy-to-use in any orientation
*Certificate included
3. Latex Adhesive Patch
Latex Bresle Test patch with easy-open tabs and low-tack adhesive for easy removal.
For users who require a salts test patch with latex construction (which can expand to a 15 ml sample size), we offer the Latex Bresle Test Patch. It also features a low-tack adhesive and TearGuard™ technology for easy patch removal that leaves no residue to clean. Additionally, it features an easy-to-remove tab on the paper backing.
How is the Bresle Method Test Performed?
Using the PosiTector SST with DeFelsko's Bresle Method Patches, soluble salt contamination testing is performed in just 3 simple steps:
1. Reference – Take a background (blank) measurement for calibration.
2. Sample – Inject test solution into the patch and allow it to sit for the required duration.
3. Record – The gauge automatically records test time, temperature, conductivity, and calculates salt density (mg/m² or µg/cm²).
